Accreditation assessment (13 –17 September) cancelled

Accreditation assessment scheduled for 13 –17 September cancelled

Late yesterday, the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) advised that our accreditation assessment scheduled for Monday 13 – Friday 17 September has been cancelled due to the increasing COVID-19 situation in Victoria.

No future date for the survey has been set at this stage. However, it will be some time in 2022 in order to allow us time to reduce the likelihood of another cancellation.

I would like to thank each of you for the work you have done to prepare. While we know that accreditation is an opportunity for us to showcase the work we do for our patients, consumers and each other, each and every day, I am acutely aware that a great deal of planning goes into preparing for the survey so we can indeed shine.

I would also like to thank the team who have supported our accreditation planning. Having once again got so close to the finish line, this will be most disappointing. Please know your work is appreciated and will hold us in good stead for next year.

It is disappointing and frustrating.  However, it is outside our control, and once again, we will adjust, regroup and move forward; with a degree of disappointment and irritation for a few days.

I will provide a further update when the revised dates are advised.

Andrew Stripp
Chief Executive
